Have you got the necessary skills to get the best out of these cars? Over the past few years two rally cars have emerged as the main contenders in both the WRC and National Group N rally championships. The Subaru Impreza and the Mitsubishi Lancer both have four wheel drive and powerful turbo charged engines if you had the choice which one would you drive? The choice of car can make the difference between winning a championship and losing it ! By coming and experiencing one of Extreme Rally’s Battle of the Thoroughbreds courses you can try both cars and make your own mind up.
Session 1
Each participant will drive a fully works-prepared rally car (either a Subaru Impreza or Mitsubishi Lancer) around the stage with the instructor who will teach the basic rally driving technique to suit the course surface. You will be able to put the car through it’s paces to test the level of under steer , grip, acceleration and braking. You will be able to assess how good the car is before going on to session 2 in which you can repeat the process in the other car.
Session 2
Each participant will drive the other fully works-prepared rally car (either a Subaru Impreza or Mitsubishi Lancer) around the stage with the instructor. You will be able to put the other car through it’s paces to test the level of under steer, grip, acceleration and braking. You will be able to assess how good the car and compare it with your first drive.
At the end of the session the instructor will get his revenge and take you on a high speed ride in one of the two cars.
- Dalby Forest is situated 5 miles north of Pickering in North Yorkshire
- Twyford forest is located 10 miles south of Stamford on the A1
- Enstone is located close to Oxford and Thame and the venue provides both loose gravel and concrete stages

How long does this activity last:
The course will last approximately 2 hours
9.00am or 11.30am or 2.00pm - Arrive for Registration.
Course Numbers:
Drivers are divided into groups of 4 to share the same cars and instructor throughout the course.
Restrictions:
- You must hold a full manual driving licence,
- Be under 6'5" tall
- Weigh less than 18 stone.
Safety briefing session with an instructor. The briefing does not include any out-of-car tuition. You will be required to sign our activity form prior to participating on the course.
Clothing Required :
Casual clothing, it is important that drivers wear correct footwear on the day. We advise drivers to wear trainers which of standard width or thin soled shoes.
Spectator Information:
Spectators are welcome. For safety purposes we cannot accommodate spectators under the age of 10 years (with exception to babies who are restrained in a pushchair or pram).
• Half day spectator-£ 5.00.
• Full day spectator-£ 10.00.
• We do not make a charge for babies.
• Dogs are permitted, although they must be on lead.
Weather Restrictions:
This course will only be cancelled in the case of extreme weather conditions and an additional date will be arranged.
